As a policy the call for Australia to become a republic is a medium term objective of NSW Senate candidate, Michael Eckford.
The time has come for Australia to stand on its own two feet and grow up, to be independent. Our country is Britain’s colonial outpost. We are only a franchised government of the British Crown.
As a Senator I will lead a national campaign to caste off the colonial shackles. This can be achieved by calling upon the British Crown and the Parliament of England to repatriate our constitution thereby establishing the Independent Republic of Australia.
It is my intention as a Senator to convene Regional, State and National summits to discuss the drafting of a new constitution for presentation to the British Crown and Parliament of England.
