Farming & Free Trade

If elected I will challenge the new parliament to initiate a complete review of the Free Trade Agreements, which are threatening the economic sustainability of primary production by allowing inferior produce to compete with high quality Australian grown non-GM food. The outcomes of this overhaul will see greater security for primary producers and their families’ well-being.

With a belief that there is stability in diversity, I will also demand that the parliament include all stakeholders in this review so that smaller farms survive the onslaught of transnational corporations.

    Hello Michael,

I would like to say that I am very excited about your campaign. I am a volunteer at 3cr community radio in Collingwood, Melbourne for a program for food fight. I also work in the organics industry and feel strongly about fair trade and the issues you speak of in regards to the high quality Australian grown produce being supported for the sake of primary industry sustainability and care of land. I would love to communicate with you further about you ideas for the future. If you are interested in an interview on the radio let me know. Melbourne radio with a global auidience.

    Good luck.

    your sincerely
