We need to start a new dialogue on the urgent matter of climate change, an issue affecting all Australians as our continent, being the driest, is one of the most vulnerable. Climate change is real but must not be used as a political football.
This country has the intelligence to contribute to the development of alternative technologies, including wind, solar and wave technologies. We must not go down the path of false solutions like nuclear power or carbon capture.
It is my intention if elected as a Senator to ensure that both federal and state governments work with communities and industries to develop and implement alternative solutions. We have an obligation to work together as a nation on this for the future of our grandchildren and their children’s children.
