Jutta was born in 1962 in a small village in northwest Germany called Vierbaum. She has a Master in Physical Geography and is an expert on water and soil. She worked for eight years for the Greens Party in Germany as a campaigner on environmental issues. She was also an active member of Friends of the Earth Germany and involved in animal protection.
Jutta worked as a consultant for NGO’s and freelanced as a journalist. She was a member of the Chemical Safety Government Advisory Committee for Technical Safety of the Chemical Industry. Her last employment in Germany was as a head of department with the environment ministry of the state of North-Rhine-Westphalia, delegated to the capital Berlin to represent the ministry in the Federal Council (Bundesrat).
In December 2002 Jutta moved to Australia to become a farmer. She is an active member of Wires and enjoys the life in the bush.
In 2007 Jutta contracted breast cancer and now has an intimate knowledge of the lack of financial and other support required for serious and chronic illnesses in the bush. She now seeks to campaign to improve financial support for low income and welfare dependents for specialised medical treatment that is not readily available in the bush.
Her hobbies are loud music, books, Maremma sheep dogs and raising orphan lambs and other animals.
